Do I need an account to use 7cal?
No. You can generate one meal plan a week as a guest. Creating a free account keeps your plan, your shopping list and your preferences across devices. A Household subscription removes the weekly limit and plans for everyone eating, not just you.
How do I set my dietary preferences?
Open the Profile tab. A diet type is required before you can generate. Add everyone who eats to your household there — each person gets their own diet, allergies and calories. Everything else — allergies, cuisines, cooking time, disliked ingredients — is optional but makes your plans more accurate.
How many times can I generate?
Guests and free accounts both get one plan per week, plus three swaps on it. Household subscribers get unlimited plans for €7.99/month.
How long does generation take?
Usually 15–30 seconds. It can take up to 2 minutes if the server is under load. Keep the app open — it will finish in the background.
What if generation fails or times out?
Try again. If the issue repeats, contact support@7cal.app.
What does "Week context" mean?
It's a free-text field on your profile where you can describe your week — for example, "Working late Tuesday and Wednesday, eating out Friday." The AI uses this to adjust meal complexity or plan lighter options on busy nights.
Can I swap or change individual meals?
Yes. After generation, tap the × on any meal to mark it for swapping. You can pick a reason (too complex, missing ingredients, etc.). Then tap "Regenerate swapped" — 7cal replaces only those meals and keeps everything else.
Can I edit a meal manually?
Yes. Tap any meal to open its details and edit the title, notes, or ingredients directly.
What's the difference between Allergies and Disliked ingredients?
Allergies are hard constraints — those ingredients will never appear in your plan. Disliked ingredients are a strong preference; the AI avoids them but may include them when there's no good alternative. Use Allergies for anything that matters for health or safety.
How does the shopping list work?
Once you confirm your meal plan, 7cal consolidates all ingredients across the week into one grouped list. Each item shows which meals use it so you always know what it's for.
Can I add my own items to the list?
Yes. Use the "Add item" field at the bottom of the shopping list for anything extra you need.
Does the shopping list save between sessions?
The list stays in sync with your active meal plan. If you generate a new plan, the list updates to match. Checked items persist until the start of a new week (Monday), then reset automatically.
What do I get with Household?
One plan that fits everyone in the house — each person's diet and allergies respected, each portion sized to their own calories — plus unlimited plans, a shared shopping list, and preferences synced across every device. It's €7.99/month — cancel anytime from Settings.
How do I cancel?
Go to Settings → Subscription and tap "Manage" to open the billing portal, where you can cancel your plan. You keep Household access until the end of your current billing period, and nothing is deleted when it ends.
Will my preferences sync across devices?
Yes, as long as you're signed in. Your household, everyone in it, their diets, allergies and cuisines, and all other profile settings are stored in your account and load automatically everywhere.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@7cal.app and we'll delete your account and all associated data within 7 days.
